Terms & Conditions

1)Scottish law shall apply to all contractual obligations arising from these terms and conditions.

2) Grobdale of Girthon makes every effort to ensure that all information supplied is accurate including all property details, we do not accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage resulting from information given or false statements made whether orally or in writing.

3)The property shall only be used for the purposes of a holiday let and the holiday maker must not sub-let the property or any part of the property or any equipment from the property. The holiday maker must allow the owner, his agents or employees unrestricted access to the premises, at, all times, for all reasonable purposes.

4)Submission of an internet or completion of a telephone booking with deposit payment will be, seen as an acceptance of these conditions. The person making the booking agrees that they are authorised to agree to Grobdale of Girthons term and conditions. The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that all persons occupying the property comply with the terms and conditions in all respects.

5)Payment of the 30% non-refundable deposit, or full payment if within 8 weeks of holiday start date is required on making the booking. Payment may be made by debit/credit card, cheque or BACS transfer. If the booking cannot be accepted the full amount will be returned within 7 days. If a booking is made and accepted the holiday maker becomes liable for the balance of payment for the full period of the holiday, full payment must be made 8 weeks prior to the holiday start date. If payment is not received the booking may be cancelled without a return of the deposit.

6) V.A.T is applied and included within the price paid.

7)The damage deposit (if available at the time of booking) minus any reasonable charges, will be re-imbursed within 14 days of the departure date. Where costs are greater than the damage deposit the holiday maker will be required to pay the difference within 14 days of the date of notification. In the absence of a damage deposit any damages will be the responsibility of the guest and GOG will look to be reimbursed of any costs incurred.

8)Under no circumstances must the people occupying the property exceed the number quoted online or in the brochure, neither must the property be ever used for a party or gathering. Grobdale of Girthon reserves the right to refuse entry or terminate the hire without notice if this condition is not observed. Grobdale of Girthon reserves the right, to refuse to hand over the property to any person who, in the owner’s opinion is not suitable to take charge of the property. If refusal of entry or termination of the booking occurs there will be no refund of any part of the payment made for the holiday and if any damages have occurred there will be no restriction on the owners seeking due reimbursement of all reasonable costs.

9)The period of hire shall be from 4pm on arrival day to 10am on departure day, any deviation from these times must be agreed in writing by Grobdale of Girthon prior to arrival. If the holiday makers do not vacate on time ie by 10am on the departure day the owners may charge a minimum penalty of £250 to cover costs for extra help to changeover the property in time for the next arrival. 

 

10) The holiday maker must, at, all times maintain the property and its contents in a clean and tidy condition. The holiday maker will be liable to the owner for any loss, costs, expenses or claims arising from damage caused or additional cleaning required to the property during the hire.

11) The properties are all designated non-smoking and if there is a need to deep clean due to a holiday maker ignoring this rule, the minimum charge incurred will be £250 and payable by the holiday maker.

12) The holiday maker shall at, all times use the utility services of the property in a fair manner, ensuring that excess consumption or wastage does not occur above that of a normal usage in a similar home. If excess consumption of solid fuel, electricity, water, or broadband does occur then the owner reserves the right to charge the holiday maker for the excess.

13)Dogs are the only accepted pets at Grobdale of Girthon unless agreed by us in writing, a maximum of two dogs per property are allowed. Dogs must be kept, under strict control at, all times and must not be left in or out of the property unattended at any time. Pet bedding must be brought with the pet, and under no circumstances must the pets be allowed in or on beds or furniture. All animal hair and excreta must be removed prior to departure.

Any animal excreta inside or outside must be cleaned immedietly.  Grobdale of Girthon reserves the right to charge for any cleaning inside or outside the property made necessary by the pet. If pets are present at a property without prior consent and payment, the owners may refuse entry to the property.

14)If for any reason the holiday maker is not happy with the accommodation, the owner or caretaker must be contacted as soon as practical so that the problem, if possible, can be rectified at the earliest opportunity.

15)The booking deposit is non-refundable, cancellation of the holiday booking within the 8 weeks prior to arrival date and after final payment is also non-refundable unless a new booking for the period is accepted by the owner in which case the payment for the period received will be paid to the original holiday maker. This may be less than the sum originally paid as it may be necessary to offer a discount for a late booking to encourage last minute holiday makers. We would therefore strongly advise you to take suitable insurance to cover any or all, of these risks.

16)Grobdale of Girthon does not offer any insurance against cancellation neither loss nor injury while on holiday, nor loss of deposit, therefore the holiday maker should arrange suitable insurance to cover any, or all of these risks.

17)Health and safety- Grobdale of Girthon is a working farm and so occasionally, there will be livestock and machinery working and moving about the fields and tracks. We will endeavour to keep all movements to a minimum in the public areas to minimise any risks and keep our visitors informed of work being carried out. The areas worked in will also be clearly marked or visitors advised of procedures however it is the responsibility of the holiday makers to keep themselves and their pets or children at a safe distance from any of the risks. There is more information on our website and in the welcome pack to help our visitors stay safe during their visit.

18)If you have symptoms of Covid-19 you should not travel to take your holiday, see point 15 regarding cancelation.

 

19)Covid 19- If you are forced to cancel due to illness including Covid -19 we will endeavour to re-sell your break see point 15 . If during your stay you or one of your party shows signs of Covid-19 we will ask you to follow government guidelines and return home to self isolate. You must inform the caretaker or owner of your decision so that the test and trace system can be followed by all concerned. No monies will be refunded so guests are advised to seek their own insurance policies to cover this eventuality.

CANCELLATION POLICY

20)Cancelation by the guest – The booking deposit is non-refundable*, cancellation of the holiday booking within the 8 weeks prior to arrival date and after final payment is also non-refundable* unless a new booking for the period is accepted by the owner in which case the payment for the period received will be paid to the original holiday maker. 21)If a guest cancels a booking due to a *lockdown situation issued by the government, Grobdale of Girthon will refund all monies paid or discuss alternative dates.

22) Cancellation by Grobdale of Girthon – Should we be required to cancel a guest booking we will refund all monies paid or discuss alternative dates.

*Note a lockdown situation is by which either the guests home address local authority or that of Grobdale ie Dumfries and Galloway local authority, issues a lockdown instruction.
